My mother-in-law, Tami, asked us to join her and Sam in Rocky Point this past weekend. Umm, hmm.. let me think about it....haha. Very spontaneous! So, we threw our swimsuits and flip flops in our bags and off we went! But not til I picked up my baby's birth certificate of course. Can't leave the country without that! We stayed in an awesome suite at Las Palomas, which I highly recommend. Our spacious condo was Tuscan meets Modern, if you can imagine, and it was beautiful. We had all day Saturday, Sunday and a half a day Monday to spend soaking up the sun and enjoying each other.
Saturday we got up early and went to the shore. It was Mr. Grammer's first time to the beach (and out of the country). Omg he loved it! Couldn't figure out what the sand was for, though. Haha but he slowly learned to walk on it and then he began to really enjoy the beach. The waves were probably the best part for him. He did love navigating his way around that rocky stuff? Not sure what it really is exactly. But he was very smart and learned quickly that that's not the stuff you want to crawl on.
After playing at the beach and making a few videos of his first experience, we headed over to the pool. Gav took Gram in his little floaty toy around in the lazy river. They are too precious!! We chilled around the pool eating those dang good casadillas and sipping fruity drinks. What else could a girl ask for?! That night we went in to "town" to a Mexican restaurant that overlooked the ocean. You can't go to Mexico without ordering some questionable, dirty tacos. Haha. For dessert we went to Thrifty Ice Cream (our little Mexico tradition). Eww, I never want to eat again :)
Sunday we did the beach again, then Gav and his dad Sam went golfing. The course looked so incredible, it made this girly girl want to golf. They had an amazing time while Tami enjoyed a massage and I played with Grammy. (Last time I got a massage in Mexico, I got my lady parts rubbed down with mud? Not sure if that's standard procedure down there but here in America, that's called molestation. Haha). So after, we went to the pool to soak up more sun and sip those fruity drinks. The boys joined us and we chatting in the kiddie pool while Gramercy ate rocks. We then showered up and headed out to dinner. Al Capone's Pizza is where we went! They have huge flat screen TV's and play American sports all day. But really, the pizza is amaze. Wish we had Al Capone's in AZ.
Monday morning we enjoyed the beach, then packed up our stuff and said goodbye to that mesmerizing water. We went into town for some little Mexican trinkets for Gram Bam. I got him a little scull necklace which I'm pretty sure I got ripped off on. Dumb American. Before we made that 4 hour drive, we picked up some more Thrifty to go, please! Oh, and don't forget those home-made tortillas on your way out of the country! Thank you Mexico for an incredibly fun trip, once again. And thank you Guthries for wanting to share this much needed vacation with us! (Ok, ok, we just got back from our last vacation less than a week ago. But we did need to see the beach!!)
